The key ideas in our theology are captured in five Latin slogans from the protestant reformation:
- SOLA SCRIPTURA – The scripture alone is our final authority in every area of life because it is the Word of God.
- SOLA CHRISTI – Christ’s perfect life and atoning death in the sinner’s place is the only basis for our acceptance with God.
- SOLA GRATIA – Sinners are saved by God’s grace alone.
- SOLA FIDE – Faith alone is the channel by which sinners receive God’s grace.
- SOLI DEO GLORIA – All glory for our salvation must go to God alone.
- We ascribe to both the Baptist Faith and Message, and the classic 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith, of which C. H. Spurgeon said, "Here the youngest members of our church will have a body of Truth in small compass, and by means of the scriptural proofs, will be able to give a reason of the hope that is in them."
- We understand that the entire story of redemptive history can be seen as God unfolding His covenant of grace, with Christ at the center of scripture.

The gospel is not merely a message that needs to be shared with non-Christians, but also with followers of Christ. It is not something that mature Christians move on from, but rather something that they move deeper into.
The gospel is also the lens in which we view theology, ministry, and all aspects of life. Simply put, the gospel is all about Jesus’ life, death and resurrection, and the implications it has for us.
